Here's how to pay your Bank of America credit card or transfer money between your accounts1

Pay your Bank of America credit card

Schedule a one-time payment

Log in to the Mobile app and tap Pay & Transfer, then Pay Bills.

Tap on the account you want to pay.

Complete the required fields and tap Next.

Confirm the payment details and tap Schedule — you’ll receive confirmation.

Set up a recurring payment

Log in to the Mobile app and tap Pay & Transfer, then Pay Bills.

Tap on the account you want to pay.

Complete the required fields.

Toggle on the Make payment recurring button.

Select the Amount and tap Save.

Choose the Frequency and tap Save.

Select when to start the recurring payment plan.

Note: If you select Next Bill, in order to avoid a missed payment or fees, please be sure to pay your current bill separately.

Tap Next.

Check the acknowledgment box and tap Schedule.

Edit/cancel a scheduled one-time or recurring payment

Log in to the Mobile app and tap Pay & Transfer, then scroll to Activity.

In the Activity section, tap More Activity and under Scheduled, find the scheduled payment.

  • Edit: tap Edit, make changes and tap Next and then tap Schedule — you'll receive confirmation.
  • Cancel: tap Cancel and confirm the cancellation — you'll receive confirmation.

Add an external account

Log in to the Mobile app and tap Pay & Transfer, then Pay Bills.

Tap on the account you want to pay.

Select the From account and tap Add account from another bank.

Tap Get Started.

Find and select your financial institution.

Log in to your external account, review the information and tap Add Account.

Note: If you can't find your financial institution in step 5, tap Or, enter routing and account number, complete the required fields, tap Next, confirm your information and tap Add Account — you'll receive confirmation.

Transfer money between your accounts

Log in to the Mobile app and tap Pay & Transfer, then Transfer.

Select the From and To accounts and enter the amount and date.

Tap Next, then Transfer — you'll receive confirmation.

Cancel a scheduled or recurring transfer

Log in to the Mobile app and tap Pay & Transfer, then scroll to Activity.

In the Activity section, tap More Activity and under Scheduled, find the scheduled transfer.

Tap Cancel and confirm the cancellation, then tap Cancel Transfer — you'll receive confirmation.

In Online Banking

Log in to Online Banking and click Pay & Transfer, then Pay Bills.

Click on the account you want to pay.

Complete the required fields and click Next.

Confirm the payment details and click Schedule — you’ll receive confirmation.

Set up a recurring payment

Log in to Online Banking and click Pay & Transfer, then Pay Bills.

Click on the account you want to pay.

Complete the required fields.

Toggle on the Make payment recurring button.

Select the Amount and choose the Monthly Frequency.

Select when to start the recurring payment plan.

Note: If you select Next Bill, in order to avoid a missed payment or fees, please be sure to pay your current bill separately.

Click Next.

Check the acknowledgment box and click Schedule.

Log in to Online Banking and click Pay & Transfer, then scroll to Activity.

  • Edit: click Edit, make changes and click Next and then click Schedule — you'll receive confirmation.
  • Cancel: click Cancel and confirm the cancellation — you'll receive confirmation.

Add an external account

Log in to Online Banking and click Pay & Transfer, then Pay Bills.

Click on the account you want to pay.

Select the From drop-down menu and click Add account from another bank.

Click Get started.

Find and select your financial institution.

Log in to your external account, review the information and click Add Account.

Note: If you can't find your financial institution in step 5, click Enter routing and account numbers, complete the required fields, click Next, confirm your information and click Add Account.

Transfer money between your accounts

Log in to Online Banking and click Pay & Transfer, then Transfer.

Select the From and To accounts and complete the required fields.

Click Next, then Transfer/Schedule — you'll receive confirmation.

Edit/cancel a scheduled or recurring transfer

Log in to Online Banking and click Pay & Transfer, then scroll to Activity.

In the Activity section and under Scheduled, find the scheduled transfer.

Edit: click Edit, make changes, click Next, and then click Save.

Cancel: click Cancel and select the transfer you want to cancel, then click Cancel Transfer — you'll receive confirmation.

Over the phone

Transfer money between your accounts

Call the number on the back of your debit card or 800-432-1000 from the phone number associated with your account.

Note: To verify yourself in the automated system, have your account number, access ID or debit card number ready.

At the main menu, say "transfer funds."

When prompted, choose the accounts you want to transfer money from and to. Then say or enter the amount you would like to transfer in dollars and cents.

Once completed, you’ll receive a confirmation number and/or email.
