Here's how to troubleshoot your ID/password

Before resetting your password, try these tips:

  • Check your password requirements
    Passwords are generally at least 8 characters with 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, and 1 number.
  • Check your stored credentials
    Stored information may be outdated. Tap your ID/password and enter it manually.
  • Update your credentials
    If your mobile device is inputting outdated credentials, follow these steps:
    • iOS: Go to Settings → Passwords → bankofamerica.com → Delete Password
    • Android: Open the Chrome app → More → Settings → Passwords → Edit/Delete

 

Forgot ID/Password Reset

  1. From the login screen, tap Forgot ID/Password.
  2. Enter the last 6 digits of your Account or Card Number (i.e. Checking, Savings, Credit, Debit, Home Loan, or Auto Loan).
  3. Enter your full Social Security number (SSN) or Tax ID Number (TIN) and tap Continue.
  4. For security verification, a code will be sent to your phone or email.
    • For text message (SMS), select the mobile number on file
    • For landlines, select the landline number on file to receive an automated phone call
    • For email, tap “Having trouble receiving a code by phone?”
  5. From the Create a new password screen you can:
    • Forgot ID: View your ID at the top of the screen
    • Reset Password: Follow the instructions to create a new password

    If your browser is inputting outdated credentials, follow these steps:
    • Chrome: Go to Settings → Autofill → Passwords → Saved Passwords → Hover over the menu icon for bankofamerica.com and select Remove
    • Safari: Preferences → Autofill → Edit button for Usernames and Passwords→ Delete the entry for bankofamerica.com
    • Edge: Settings → View Advanced Settings → Scroll to Autofill Settings → Manage passwords→ Highlight bankofamerica.com and select the X
    • Firefox: Tools → Options → Security Panel → Passwords → Highlight bankofamerica.com and select Remove
