Restrict the sale of items from the inventory to help ensure that the sales of certain items comply with laws in a country or region. Restrictions prohibit the sale of an item at the point-of-sale, if the specified restriction is not met.
The restriction types that are available for an item, include:
Age Verification – Merchants may need to restrict the age of the consumer buying an item. For example, when restricting the age of a consumer to 21 years or older for buying alcohol. This ensures the sale of that item complies with the laws in a country or region.
Purchase Quantity – Merchants may decide to restrict the quantity of a product that a consumer can purchase. For example, a game store may want to restrict the number of new gaming consoles a consumer can buy.
Item Return – Merchants can impose restrictions on the return policy for an item. For example, they can dictate that final sale items are non-refundable.
